Biography
Dr. Andrea Hui Austin is a board-certified dermatologist who joined Redwood Family Dermatology in October 2014. As an ACGME fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon, Dr. Austin focuses on the diagnosis of skin cancers and treatment with Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Austin was born and raised in Chicago. She completed her medical training at University of Illinois College of Medicine, graduating at the top of her class as a recipient of the Alpha Omega Alpha award. After finishing her medicine internship at University of Chicago-Evanston Hospital, she moved to New York City to complete her dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate, serving as chief resident. Dr. Austin then received further training in Mohs surgery and cosmetic dermatology in a procedural fellowship at SUNY Downstate with the past president of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Daniel Siegel.
In addition to taking care of patients, Dr. Austin is passionate about teaching dermatology residents. She has authored over 20 papers and book chapters and often speaks at national and worldwide dermatology conferences.
Dr. Austin’s surgical expertise and passion for her patients’ needs makes her a unique asset to Redwood Family Dermatology.
