Your health is our top priority. Redwood Family Dermatology is dedicated to providing the safest possible environment for our patients, providers and staff. From screening patients and employees to requiring face masks, we are taking extra precautions every day in each of our locations.

Whether you are coming for a consultation, an in-office procedure, surgery or other medical appointment, Redwood Family Dermatology is carefully following all recommended precautions to protect your health, and the health of caregivers, companions and medical staff.
We are open to care for your health and wellness needs. RFD practices are currently able to schedule emergent and routine visits, medication management (including refills), consultations, minor surgical procedures, elective procedures, and more services. In-office visits can be scheduled at our main office on Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa and at our Ukiah office. Dr. Schwartz is currently only available for telehealth virtual visits. However, to help with social distancing and still be able to offer more appointments in Santa Rosa, we are scheduling in-office appointments at our Hoen Avenue office in Santa Rosa for Dr. Park, Dr. Hayes and Angela Wyble, PAC.

Infection prevention

Our locations are cleaned and disinfected rigorously, following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and County of Sonoma Department of Health Services infection prevention guidelines.

To further prevent possible infection, all individuals entering our offices are required to:

  • Wear facial coverings, (We require cloth masks to be constructed of at least two layers, and masks must cover the nose and mouth areas. Gaiter-type coverings and masks with ventilators are not sufficient.)
  • Maintain a minimum six-foot distance from one another,
  • Sneeze or cough into a cloth or tissue, or if not available, into your elbow,
  • Not shake hands, and
  • Should not engage in any unnecessary physical contact.

Cleaning and sanitizing

Strict procedures are in place at our locations:

  • Equipment is always cleaned between patients.
  • Frequent touch areas are sanitized several times throughout the day.
  • Hand sanitizers are readily available.
  • All exam rooms are thoroughly disinfected and cleaned after each visit.

New office entry permission protocols

All patients coming to Redwood Family Dermatology offices for procedures or appointments undergo screening upon arrival at our offices. All persons entering the premises are also subject to temperature checks. We also require that all employees and other individuals entering our offices be screened for symptoms, for your additional safety and peace of mind.

All persons entering RFD locations will be screened with the following questions:

  • In the last 14 days, have you been diagnosed with and/or had a positive COVID-19 lab test?
  • In the last 14 days, have you had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?

Please note that if you arrive at any of our locations and have any of these symptoms/conditions, your appointment will likely have to be rescheduled.

To best support physical distancing, we are limiting the number of persons that enter our offices. We ask that only the patient enters our offices for an appointment unless the patient is a minor or requires assistance due to disability. In these instances, one parent/guardian/caregiver is allowed — please leave siblings at home if possible. Loved ones may video chat or be on the phone during your appointment, but please ask in advance for accommodations so we can fully prepare for your visit.

We ask all persons to maintain six feet or more of personal space inside our waiting areas and workstations. Some personal companions and caregivers may be allowed to accompany patients that need extra support. Check with your RFD provider before your appointment to determine if we can make that accommodation for you.

Telehealth virtual visits

For patients who prefer a virtual visit and for appointments that do not require an in-office visit, telehealth appointments are available. Some RFD providers can see patients via Zoom with secure passwords for consultations, medication refills and other simple visits. Visit our appointment request page and select the telehealth option to request a virtual visit.

We are proud to be able to continue to serve our communities in Sonoma and Mendocino counties. If you have questions or concerns about how to get the healthcare you seek while preventing the spread of coronavirus, talk to your RFD provider to learn more about the measures we are taking to make you feel comfortable in our clinics.
